Champions of Sports Covid Rules

Effective June 15th, 2020, Texas Governor Abbott has allowed for Youth Sports to continue with the guidance of the CDC, Texas and Local Governments during this time. The focus of Champions of Sports is to work with all the facilities of where we host events to keep all Staff, Spectators & Student-Athletes Safe at all times. We have to understand the risks of being in direct contact with anyone at the age of 65 or older 14 days after participating in a sports event. The virus that causes Covid-19 is still circulating in our communities. We should continue to observe practices that protect everyone, including those that are most vulnerable.

  • MASKS: All spectators will be required to wear masks over their nose and mouth while attending a Champions of Sports Event. Failure to wear a mask will not be allowed and will deny entry into any event. The mask must stay on until you exit the venue.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING: All spectators will be required to practice effective social distancing of 6 feet. Spectator gatherings of 10 or more will not be permitted. Shaking hands or fist bumps between players after games will not be permitted. Each venue will have specific rules of entry and exiting.
  • SANITATION: Champions of Sports and the event facility staff will be working diligently to disinfect common areas during and after games. Hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, soap and water, will be readily available at all facilities. We urge all to sanitize themselves on a regular basis.
  • SYMPTOMATIC PEOPLE: All Champions of Sports Staff will be administering temperature checks on players and their coaches as they enter as a team. We will give coaches designated times on their specific check-in to gain entry. All other spectators will need to utilize their social distancing when entering the facility. We suggest that anybody showing symptoms before the event not to attend in order to ensure the safety of the rest of the population.
  • CROWD CONTROL: All facilities will have a clear Entrance and Exit established to avoid contact and give protection for Social Distancing. The doors will open 45 minutes before the first tipoff. We ask that spectators stay in their vehicles until time to enter. Sessions-Morning & Afternoon: As far as games, there will be a morning session and an afternoon session. When the morning session is complete, we will take 30 minutes to clear the gyms to start allowing the afternoon session to enter with the facility. The facility and Champions of Sports Staff will be doing other necessary cleaning as well. We will have the teams to enter with their coach to give them other specific rules. After teams are done playing, they will need to find a designated rest area and put on their masks for additional safety.
